Our interviews aren't just war stories or combat veteran interviews, but interviews from any military veteran willing to share. Our mission is to spread awareness and educate the community with what military veterans go through while serving their country and how life has been since their military transition back to civilian life. Job Description
We'd like to build a website, similar to that of theplayerstribune.com, where veterans will be able to share their stories quickly and efficiently through a simple sign up process, ideally through a one click social media profile integration.
Our goal is to create a website where active duty and veterans can journal privately, choosing to share entries to no one, or friends and family, OR give us the ability to quickly share their stories to our community publicly (after we review).
We'd like a plugin for SEO to be added, that makes it simple and easy for our team to optimize content to reach as many people as possible.
We'd like this website to look similar to The Players Tribune's design, but it can be a similiar template and not built from scratch, as long as it's a highly visual experience and easy to navigate.
This would be a full Wordpress website design and code, and we'd love to maintain a relationship as we grow to have the developer work with us in the future to make changes/adjustments.
We have to have a professional aesthetic and provide a confident experience for both our veterans/viewers, but also for potential sponsors to see the quality of our delivery and seriousness we put into capturing and sharing the incredible stories of our veterans.

Responsibilities
Designing and implementing new features and functionality
Establishing and guiding the website’s architecture
Ensuring high-performance and availability, and managing all technical aspects of the CMS
Skills and Qualifications
Good understanding of front-end technologies, including HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, jQuery
Experience building user interfaces for websites and/or web applications
Experience designing and developing responsive design websites
Comfortable working with debugging tools like Firebug, Chrome inspector, etc.
Ability to understand CSS changes and their ramifications to ensure consistent style across platforms and browsers
Ability to convert comprehensive layout and wireframes into working HTML pages
Proficient understanding of code versioning tools
Strong understanding of PHP back-end development
